Robotic Surgery

Robotic Surgery

At Tri Valley Urology, we are proud to offer da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery—a cutting-edge, minimally invasive option for treating a variety of urologic conditions. This advanced technology allows our surgeons to operate with unmatched precision through small incisions, resulting in less pain, reduced blood loss, faster recovery times, and smaller scars. It is especially effective for procedures such as prostatectomy, kidney surgery, and bladder reconstruction.

Expertise You Can Trust
Our board-certified urologists are highly trained in robotic surgery and have performed hundreds of successful procedures using the da Vinci system. Whether you're facing prostate cancer, kidney tumors, or a complex urologic reconstruction, you can feel confident in our expertise and commitment to excellence. We combine the latest surgical innovation with personalized care to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Prostate Cancer

Over 150,000 men are diagnosed with Prostate Cancer yearly in America.

Robotic Prostatectomy is a mainstay of treatment for prostate cancer. The goals of surgery include removal of the cancerous prostate gland while preserving urinary and erectile function.

The DaVinci Robotic system allows for gentle tissue handling to carefully spare the nerves needed for erectile function. The camera magnification offered by robotic surgery allows our surgeons to see the prostate more clearly, allowing them to prevent injury to neighboring tissues. Another benefit is decreased bleeding with surgery. Patients rarely require a blood transfusion and are often able to go home the day after surgery.

Kidney Cancer

Over 50,000 people are diagnosed with Kidney cancer yearly in America.

In the past, an entire kidney was often removed for a small tumor. This would lead to decreased kidney function. Years of research have demonstrated that Partial Nephrectomy, removal of only the tumor, can cure the cancer as well as removal of the entire kidney. Robotic surgery allows us to remove the tumor and preserve the healthy kidney which leads to better renal function. The smaller incisions used in Robotic Surgery greatly decrease the pain associated with surgery.

Female Prolapse

Many women with prolapse of the vagina can benefit from a procedure known as Sacral Colpopexy. This procedure allows us to return the vagina to a normal location. Using the DaVinci surgical system allows us to make small incisions resulting in a quicker recovery.

Robotic Pyeloplasty

Some patients are born with a blockage of the ureter known as congenital ureteropelvic junction obstruction. This condition can lead to decreased kidney function and pain in the kidney. The goal of surgery is to remove the obstructed portion and reattach the ureter allowing the kidney to drain more effectively.

Traditional open surgery requires a large incision. Robotic surgery allows us to perform removal of the blocked portion of the ureter with much smaller incisions, allowing patients a quicker and less painful recovery.
