Dr Nemi Shah

Dr. Nemi Shah is an Ob/GYN who specializes in urogynecology. She has expertise in a wide range of urogenital and pelvic floor dysfunctions, including pelvic organ prolapse, overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction, fecal incontinence, defecatory dysfunction, dyspareunia, interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome, neurogenic bladder, levator myalgia, postpartum pelvic floor conditions, and vaginal mesh complications. She additionally offers consultations for patients planning future pregnancy and delivery with concerns about their pelvic floor and for postmenopausal patients who are having bothersome symptoms or wish to learn more about the menopausal transition.  


Dr. Shah graduated cum laude from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She was also selected by her peers for induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and was distinguished as a Health Justice Scholar with a Special Recognition for Leadership and Advocacy for her work at the HOYA Free Clinic. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX. 

Here, she received the Chairman's Award for her outstanding care of patients and the Dean Carpenter Teaching Award. She then pursued a fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Medicine at the University of California San Diego, during which time she received the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons President's Award for her research on pelvic reconstructive surgeries for women with pelvic organ prolapse. She also completed a Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Studies during this time. She currently remains affiliated with the University of California San Diego Medical Center as adjunct faculty to continue teaching residents and fellows.
